I am the creator of Toy Product Design, a course offered at MIT in the spring semester and now at University of Minnesota in the Spring semester. This course is an introduction to the product design process, designing for children, and design for entertainment. Students work in small teams to design and prototype new toy concepts.

Students learn ideation and brainstorming technique and partake in fun creativity exercises.

Students get hands on experience with model making and prototyping processes.

There is a strong emphasis on presentation and entertainment. Students present their final toy concepts to the university, children, and toy industry representatives at the end of the semester.

Please visit the course website for more information and to see the toy prototypes from past years.
